IF: Contained

Watercolour
Watercolour and digital

This week Illustration friday topic is "Contained"
I haden't much time to do it but I wanted to do
something in watercolour but when I saw it scanned
I wasnt' very happy with it so I used photoshop on it.
I don't know wich is better,I'll let you decide.
About my interpretation of the word I imagined a little
mouse trying to fish the moon that is contained(this is
what he thinks) in a little lake near his house .

This is an intriguing image... almost surreal, nicely done. The stars actually seem to be twinkling.

Of course you can add me to your blog list!

Really cute mouse, I like this one a lot...

Really cute image. I agree about the twinkling effect. My monitor must not work properly. I really cannot tell the difference. Both work nicely!

Nice idea. I agree, I can't really see what you added with Photoshop. But then I don't think it really needed anything. God job.

Great illustration-- such a cute character. I can't see a difference between the two, but I don't think it's missing anything. Great work!

Oh I love the idea of a mouse fishing for the moon in the lake. That's too sweet ;)

Very cute illustration. I can't tell much difference between the two, only that the digitally enhanced illustration looks a little softer.

This idea is so nice! Maybe you have something to develop here, it can be a beautiful story.
I can't notice a great difference either. The watercolour one has a better contrast, but I love the softness you achieved with PS.

Awesome watercolor. Great idea with the moon reflection in the water and the mouse trying to fish it out. Really clever. Below is a link to copy and paste in a new window. It shows how you can smooth out color pencil with mineral spirits. I'm wondering if it could be used with water color as well. Not sure. The color pencils are waxed base and watercolor isn't. It was just interesting.

We both had a similar idea, and a very different execution for the topic. This is very peaceful. (on my screen I can't see much of a difference between the two.)

i cant find the difference between the two, or this is probably just my eyes... i think it is beautiful, esp. the sky.

this is cute and a lovely story, too.

Such a sweet idea, makes me almost wish he could do it, hee hee! I think they both look very similar and both look wonderful. I'm especially taken with the starry sky.
